A Lemmy community to share music that is legally available for free, and in the case of storefronts like Bandcamp, name your price. Inspired by [this post of a similar objective, on MusicBrainz's community discourse board](https://community.metabrainz.org/t/share-your-links-to-legal-free-music-downloads/611998).
It goes without saying but, do support these artists financially *if you can*, especially if they've set their releases to name-your-price!
**Rules:**
1. The music being posted must be available as a free/NYP download by the artist or label responsible for its release. This of course means **no pirate downloads**.
1. Please add the genre of the music you're posting in the title, so people know what to expect. You don't have to be too specific, though. If you're not sure, make a close assumption or check the release on Discogs or Rate Your Music.
1. Self-promotion is fine, just don't overdo it as it may be seen to the community as spam and a mod may have to delete it. Use the body text to your advantage here.
1. Likewise, if you know an artist or label who has a large amount or all of their music released for free/NYP, it is recommended to link that instead and link the releases you like in the body.
1. Releases that are free/NYP for a limited time are allowed (e.g. when an artist sets everything on their Bandcamp to free/NYP for promotional purposes) but must be labelled somewhere on the title.
